Boston: General Music Publishing co. / Boston Music Company, 1962. Softcover. Near Fine. First edition. Quarto. 15pp. Stapled wrappers. Light toning and light bumping to the corners, else near fine. For voice and piano. Plate imprint, "And Be - 13." A single piece of music adopting the words of both Christopher Marlowe's poem "The Passionate Shepherd to His Love," and Ogden Nash's poem "Love Under the Republicans (or Democrats)," which is a parody of the Marlowe poem, both opening with the lines, "Come live with me and be my love/And we will all the pleasures prove," The contrast between the two poems (particularly the eras in which they were produced) is playfully echoed in the cover illustration. An interesting novelty. *OCLC* locates only eight holdings. (Inventory #: 585997)
