Geneseo, NY: January 22, 1840. 7-3/4" x 10-3/4" broadside, text in single column below headline. Light browning and a few tny light stains, horizontal and vertical fold lines through center, minor tears beginning to form on folds, annotations in contemporary hand to upper and lower margins. $350. * The annotations read: "Mr. Perkins had this money in his house when a fire broke out in the village which he went to see, carrying the money in his pocket for safe keeping" and "The loss of this money caused his failure in business."
