First edition of this vibrant pop-up artist's book, depicting the lives (and one death) of the residents of a high-rise apartment – number 26 of 29 copies. This bright artist's book and its accompanying text are a commentary on simultaneous interconnectedness and disconnectedness of living in an apartment building. Everyone in the apartment goes about their activities in their individual spaces – sometimes to the chagrin of others living below them – so wrapped up in their lives that they do not notice one of their fellow residents has been dead for 10 years. 15'' x 6.25''. Original pink cloth-backed color pictorial boards, screen-printed. Bifolium of color screen-printed pop-up structure, with moveable interior via flap at the chimney. One double-sided leaf of text in envelope, tucked into "mail slot" to rear board. Numbered 26/29 to rear. Lower outer corner of front board a touch bumped. Sharp and bright. (Inventory #: 45117)
