(82 pages of handwritten accounts) William Hancock was engaged in various business enterprises in the Wyoming Valley including the founder of the Wyoming Shovel Works and the Wyoming terra cotta works. Hancock was the proprietor of a foundry, a plow factory, and of a general supply store. As the first Burgess of Wyoming borough, Hancock helped shape this district into a thriving town grew with the completion of the Lehigh and Susquehanna River Railroad in the mid 1800's. This account book, neatly written, describe "Cash Received" and "Cash Paid Out" for the years 1884-1888. Interior clean, boards rubbed.
