Facsimile edition of the original magazine, #87 of a limited 120 copies signed by Richard Bruce Nugent, from an edition of 1,400 total. Bound in publisher's decorative red and black stapled wraps housed in the original black box lettered in red on the upper lid. 48 pp. Light edge wear else Fine in a Near Fine box with small areas rubbed through at corners and edges. A facsimile of the original 1926 issue of the black literary magazine signed and numbered by the Harlem Renaissance writer Richard Bruce Nugent. Nugent was openly gay and lived with Wallace Thurman at the time of the original publication. Themes of homosexuality, sex work, interracial relationships and promiscuity were promoted causing an outcry from readers. The magazine folded just after one issue from debt, controversy and a burnt down headquarters.
