Ex-library, with the usual markings to the preliminary pages (legitimately deaccessioned). Extremities moderately rubbed and bumped. Bookseller's ticket on the rear pastedown. Illustrations mildly offset. Else, other than a single numerical marking within the text, the pages are clean. Complete. A translation of the memorial of the Portuguese Franciscan missionary Alonso De Benavides. Benavides was the third head of the mission churches of New Mexico. Number 261 in an edition limited to 300 copies. This printing is notable for its gravure illustrations of photographs by Charles F. Lummis, Adam Clark Vroman, and John Karl Hillers.
