by BIRD & BULL PRESS
Newtown, PA: Bird & Bull Press, 1990. One of 200 copies. A near-fine copy, two minute stains on spine and light toning to the wrappers. 16.3 x 11 cm. Two leaves of text and 74 paper specimens; printed note loosely inserted. Printed paper wrappers. Henry Morris's note printed on the inserted sheet details his intentions with this sample catalogue: "PLEASE NOTE: Sample-book making is a costly business, and making 200 copies of this one has taken up much of my time during the past two months. The booklets are being sold for about half-price in order to introduce potential users to this new style of decorated paper. The sole purpose of this booklet is to display to bookbinders the variety of patterns and colors presently available. The samples are held together with adhesive only and swatches can be easily removed for comparison with other binding materials, submission to customer, etc. This booklet was made to be a useful and expendable tool for bookbinders and not a collector's item.
