Folded leaf; on the stationery of the Fitzhugh Lee Monument Association, printed with a portrait of Fitzhugh Lee, and with the names of the officers of the the Association, a redoubtable group of Southern Ladies if there ever was one -- Mrs. N. B. Randolph [President]; Mrs. Joseph Bryan [Honorary President]; Mrs. Kate Winn [Corresponding Secretary]; Miss M. Ruth Jennings [Associate President]; Mrs. Edgar D. Taylor [Treasures]; Mrs. J. Enders Robinson [Recording Secreatry].~~This two page handwritten letter is from Mrs. Randolph to General William Ruffin Cox, thanking him for his donation of $50 to the Fitzhugh Lee Monument Fund. She laments that “we have not had the response we have hoped for” and solicits General Gox’s help in reaching others who might contribute. ~~The letter is enclosed in an envelope addressed to General William Ruffox Cox | West Grace Street | City, with a printed return address 611 E. Franklin St. Richmond, Virginia with a 2 cent stamp. Mrs. Randolph was President of the Richmond Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy.
