Small 4to (9” x 5 5/8”); 216 + 447pp; tan wrapper, brown cloth shelf back; text, tables, charts, map, and a few b&w illustrations; heavy wear to wrappers, chipping to shelf back with loss; foxing throughout, damp staining but no bad odors; good plus. Scarce. OCLC locates 6 copies. A scarce report that is readable and firmly bound, although it shows wear. In 1862, Samuel F. Perley served as President, Samuel Wasson as vice President, and S.L. Goodale as Secretary of the Maine Board of Agriculture. Following the Secretary’s written report, there are tables with statistics for the towns in each county. Additionally, the Second Annual Report Upon the Natural History and Geology of the State of Maine 1862 begins after page 216 and comprises 447 pages.
