Original brown hardcover cloth binding with black and gold stamped lettering and decoration; minor rubbing to the extremities, and minimal discoloration. Folio: measures 12.75" (325mm) height. The inner front hinge is very weak and cracked, remaining attached. The endpapers and first and final few pages of text are foxed, as are the frontispiece and final illustration. A few other illustrations have minor foxing. Previous owner's gift inscription neatly on the front endpaper. Complete with 25 black and white engravings. Early edition.. (Inventory #: 020240)
