A very presentable signed 1979 printing of this artist monograph of the mezzotints of influential Japanese copper printmaker Yozo Hamaguchi (1909-2000), who led the revival of the mezzotint in the 20th century, published by Nantenshi Gallery and inscribed with Hamaguchi’s signature with Kanji characters below.
Inscribed by Hamagushi with Kanji characters beneath for Lomon Koos (possibly the sociologist Earl Lomon Koos), to title page. 6 1/4" X 6 1/4". Unpaginated, 70 plates of 53 color mezzotints. Presents nicely in protective archival jacket, within black clothbound slipcase titled in blue. Bound in black cloth over boards, with spine lettered in blue. Faint rubbing to cloth, else fine. Scattered rubbing to slipcase, with bumping to extremities. Contains an essay by Yvonne Hagen, as well as a timeline of the artist's life and exhibitions, and a list of institutional holdings.
