Parallel text in French and English. With seven photogravures by Robert Mapplethorpe, each with a protective tissue guard. With the prospectus laid in.

"In A Season In Hell Rimbaud identifies Selfless Love as the ideal solution. To be absolutely modern is to remake life, to re-invent love. It is Rimbaud who pays the price for not following the path he lights, for not fulfilling his reason for rebellion. The romantic movement which preceded him also died the death of indulgence. Rimbaud in his own poetry worked his way through the crushing influences of that romanticism, pre-eminently Hugo, Musset and Baudelaire.
