In 1971, Hunt was the first Black artist to have New York's MOMA give him a significant solo retrospective exhibition. He is perhaps best known for his public sculpture, with commissions for the National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington, the Ida B. Wells National Monument, the Obama Presidential Center, and many other institutions and private collections. This exhibition catalog includes both sculptures and works on paper.
