Green cloth boards with black decoration and gilt title on cover and spine. . Octavo. Some wear to corners and spine, as well as a small brown stain on cover. Rear hinge is cracked, and front hinge is slightly loose. Still a very good copy. The present work is a manual on etiquette, behavior, and prayer for Catholic young women. The book consists of four parts: Duties to God, Young Ladies' Duties to their Families, the Duties of Young Ladies Outside their Family, and Counsels on Different Subjects. Chapters range in topic from celibacy, duties to the poor, and to modesty. The preface "To Young Ladies" emphasizes that after schooling, girls' "judgment and intellect" are more developed, and they can live a virtuous life through having good-will and finding recourse in God.
