Hardcover
1940
1940. Hardcover. Very Good. Hardcover. An interesting photograph album from the 1940s, with photos of soldiers and their equipment, and of buildings, and of course the obligatory bare-chested native women. This appears to be from a Pacific island other than Hawaii, but there is little to identify it There is a card included that offers greetings to all soldiers, sailors, and marines, but also to all mermaids, whales, sea serpents amd all living things of the sea. It is dated May 17, 1944 from the domain "Cape Perpetua." There was a well known Cape Perpetua on the Oregon coast but this obviously is not it, but an online search didn't reveal other locations with this name. One of the soldiers was apparently named Weldon Porter. Black and white photos of various sizes inserted throughout. Well over 100 photgraphs with a few medium format negatives tucked behind photos. Several photographs on some pages have been removed and there are a few loose photos laid in. In a red covered album measuring 7 x 8.75 inches, titled letters and photographs with a sleeve on the cover allowing for a 2x3 inch photo. In very good condition. PHOTO/051425.
