Leather bound
2015 · n.p.
by Chaucer, Geoffrey; Burne-Jones, Edward (Illustrations)
n.p.: Charles Winthrope & Sons, Robert Graham, The Bradford Exchange Press, 2015. Limited Edition. Leather bound. Fine. Burne-Jones, Edward. One of 1896 copies, elephant folio size, 558 pp. It is (almost) universally acknowledged that the Kelmscott Chaucer is the most beautiful book ever to have been created, thanks to the vision and creative genius of William Morris and the heartbreakingly lovely illustrations provided by Edward Burne-Jones.
This publication is a worthy facsimile which does justice to the original. The publishers made every attempt to faithfully re-create the original, down to a blind-stamp on the rear pastedown (where the turn-in would have been), "The Doves Bindery 1897".
