Marquette, Michigan: Petersen & Lovejoy, Publishers and Proprietors, 1891. Hardcover. Near fine. In compiling the Upper Peninsula Lodge Directory it was intended to give the full roster of all the different bodies of the Masonic, Odd Fellows, Knights of Pythias, Maccabees and Workmen orders, in the Upper Peninsula. To these have been added since the inception of the work, the Improved Order of Red Men, Royal Arcanum, National Union, E.A.U. and Sons of St. George; also the complete roster of the Upper Peninsula companies of the Michigan State Troops, attached at the time of the beginning of this work to the 3rd Regiment, but now assigned to the 5th Regiment. In nearly all instances the full roll of each lodge is published, but in some instances this has not been obtainable, and only the names of the officers are given, while in the case of new lodges some only appear in the Index." Printed by Mining Journal Book and Job Print. 12mo: xvi, 292 pp. with numerous advertisements. Original black cloth binding, with gilt-stamped titles. An advertisment for the Duluth, South Shore & Atlantic Railway is neatly affixed to the front flyleaf, presumably as issued. Tiny bit of edgewear; else near fine. Scarce, OCLC locates only two holdings: Michigan State and the Superiorland Library Cooperative. (Inventory #: 78611)
