Boston: Emergency Peace Committee of Massachusetts, 1917. 5.5x8.5 inch leaflet, with a closed tear, some soiling, and a paperclip mark; together with 31 response slips which have been cut or torn from the bottom of similar leaflets; also included is a 5.5x8.5 inch leaflet titled "Report on the Post Card Referendum in Massachusetts," with some paper clip marks. Each returned slip gives the name and town of the sender. According to the final report, a majority responded in opposition to joining the war, but by the time the returns had been counted, the US Senate had already voted to join the war.
