Notable for the great morality drama of the last quarter of the book, consisting of the capital trial of the kitten Eureka for a dreadful murder. As the Hungry Tiger of Oz testifies under oath, "Kittens have no consciences, so they eat whatever pleases them." 9.25'' x 7.25''. Original blue cloth, with original pictorial paste-on. 16 color plates and numerous in-text illustrations by Neill. Spine reads "The Reilly & Britton Co."; ad on verso of half title lists three titles. 256 pages. Only light rubbing to spine ends and paste-on. Tiny closed tear to "belongs to" leaf, else clean and bright.
