Paris: Chez Durand, 1752. First French Edition. Boards. Very Good. First French Edition. 24, lxx, 10, 222 pages + folding plate (Figs I-X) + blank leaf + 15 leaves (index, approbation, corrections). 16mo. Binding is 19th century quarter green leather with smooth spine, gold-stamped title and rules on spine over marble boards. Endpapers marbled. Very light wear overall to the binding, some scuffing overall to the spine. Generally bright and clean interior with several paper batches browned and one dark spot which doesn't affect readability. Overall a sound, attractive copy. Boards. "...Experiments and Observations remains the most important scientific book of eighteenth-century America." (PMM)
The first English edition of this work was published in 1751. This is the first Foreign language edition.
