Uncommon limited edition portfolio of offset lithography by foundational regional artists, including several members of the Dallas Nine. This large-format collection of lithographs, noted as "Southwest Artists Series — Number One," features work by a number of important early 20th century regional painters such as Charles T. Bowling, Edward Eisenlohr, Alexandre Hogue, Merritt Mauzey, and more. In his foreword, Texas artist, critic, and academic Jerry Bywaters describes the collection as "historical and topical" highlighting how "E.G. Eisenlohr was among the first of 'contemporary' Texas artists to use lithographs" and that "Mauzey, Hogue, Bowling and Brown were some of the first artists to own their own lithographic presses and produce their own prints."
