Foreword to the 14th edition: 'While the fourth to the tenth edition, out of print in approximately four years, remained essentially unchanged, this fourteenth edition, due to the 1924 change in the numbering of colors, had to be edited accordingly. The presentation of color tone proportions therefore was simplified as a result. Remarks on color harmony profited from this change.' (Ostwald Foreword)
