New York and Chicago: International Tailoring Co, 1925. Striking Jazz Age brochure advertising the latest styles in men's wool jackets and suits, published by the International Tailoring Company. Featuring a deep blue cover design reminiscent of The Great Gatsby, the brochure urges men to place custom orders for the models of their choice with local merchants: “Custom-tailoring is a service proposition and service means placing at your disposal what you want to buy -- not what we want to sell. Prices are governed by quality of your selection. It may be a good all-wool suit at $25.00 or the limit of elegance at $60.00.” This copy of the brochure was distributed by the Men’s Department of Baldy’s General Store in Catawissa, Pennsylvania. OCLC locates one holding, at the University of Chicago. A scarce piece of American fashion ephemera. Side-stapled brochure, measuring 6.25 x 4 inches: [16], inclusive of wrappers. Color pictorial wrappers, color illustrations throughout text. Light smudging to rear wrapper.
