This image was taken shortly after Wounded Knee Massacre. George E. Trager (1861-1964) began photographing army officers and Dakota Indians at the Pine Ridge Reservation in March, 1890. He later formed a partnership with Joseph Ford to sell photographs of Pine Ridge, and founded the Northwestern Photographic Company in January, 1891. (Inventory #: 10523)
