Tom Phillips, 1972. The painting was a gift from the artist to the poet and publisher, Jonathan Williams, and came from the poet's house in Corn Close, Cumbria after his death. Stickers on the back of the painting attest to the provenance. Phillips and Williams collaborated on the book Imaginary Postcards which was published by the Trigram Press in 1975. The painting was exhibited at the Gemeentemuseum, Den Haag, in 1975. The painting is in very good condition.. Original painting, acrylic on canvas, approximately 20” wide by 24” vertical, in aluminum frame, the painting bearing the legend: “The boy who walked the waters & other roseate Uranian memories, After S2963. Tom Phillips LXXII”. The painting is in very good condition. (Inventory #: 23606)
