[San Francisco]: Maximum Rocknroll, 1983. The first eleven issues of the long-running punk and hardcore 'zine. Vol. 1 Nos. 0-10. Bound in publisher's stapled wraps. Very Good+, cheap newsprint well-toned with age, some light foxing and wear to wraps. Maximum Rocknroll started as founder Tim Yohannon's radio show on Berkeley community radio station KPFA, then began its print existence with issue 0 that was included in the Not so Quiet on the Western Front compilation album. Early contributors include Minor Threat & Fugazi's Ian MacKaye, Dead Kennedys frontman Jello Biafra, anarchist gadfly Bob Black, and Jeffrey Bale, scholar of extremism and author of the classic parapolitical work The Darkest Sides of Politics.
