Page [137] begins the facsimile printing of "The Latter-Day Saints' Emigrants' Guide: Being a table of distances, showing all the springs, creeks, rivers, hills mountains, camping places, and all other notable places, from Council Bluffs to the Valley of the Great Lake, also, the latitudes, longitudes and altitudes of the prominent point on the route together with remarks on the nature of the land, timber and grass, etc. The whole route having been carefully measured by a roadometer, and the distance from point to point, in English miles, accurately shown, by W. Clayton, St. Louis, 1848. with preface and index. There is a black and white photograph of the author's daughter and possibly her husband, and her signature inside the book under her photo facing page 78. A near fine copy bound in light brown cloth lettered and decorated in dark brown, spine lettering brown, no names or bookplates. A very nice copy. [Flake 4986; Howes-464].
