By H. Wang

Whitney Museum. No binding. Fine. [New York]: Whitney Museum, May 1979. Set of 3 vintage original 8 x 10" (20 x 25 cm) black-and-white semi-glossy photos. All with holograph notes crediting photographer H. Wang on verso. Fine.

George Segal (1924-2000) started his art career as a painter, but his best known works are cast life-size figures and the tableaux the figures inhabited. In place of traditional casting techniques, Segal pioneered the use of plaster bandages (plaster-impregnated gauze strips designed for making orthopedic casts) as a sculptural medium. (Wikipedia)

Segal is seen in portrait and posing with his installation; the last photo shows just the installation. Written on verso of all three photos: "George Segal at Whitney 5/79, Harvey [or H.] Wang."
