The first book devoted to distillation, expanded

Second edition of the Kleines Destillierbuch, expanded from the first edition of 1500 by the addition of material by Marsilio Ficino and Konrad.

Folio (307 x 206 mm): A8 B-D6 Dd6 Ddd4 E-Y6 Z4 AA-FF6 GG4: 190 leaves, complete; several errors in foliation and signatures. Large two-panel woodcut on title, 263 woodcuts in text, 1 double-page. Text printed mainly in two columns. Attractively rebound to style in blindstamped calf over wooden boards, metal clasps and catches. Early inscription to title page and terminal blank page, and a few early annotations to text. Stained and wormed, the worming affecting some woodcuts and text without loss of sense, the first and final two leaves with minor repair to a couple of wormholes and nicks, loss to lower outer corner of X2 not affecting text. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.

A near-fine copy

First edition, first impression, inscribed by the author on the dedication page, “to Roz, JKRowling”.

Octavo. Original matt laminated boards, spine and front cover lettered in white, green, blue, black, and red. With dust jacket. Ownership signature of one Mandie Paul-Tuck to front free endpaper. Head and foot of spine very slightly bumped, corners to front covers with negligible rubbing; unclipped jacket with occasional slight rubbing to some extremities, barely perceptible marks to reverse of jacket: a near-fine copy in like jacket. ¶ Errington A2(a).
