A 13 1/2" x 10 1 /2" page from a paper doll house book. c1890s. The book was long ago disbound, but we're offering this page with an individual room with a paper doll to occupy it, on each side. The first side is a dining room with two tables that have removable fringed paper tablecloths that store in the top of the table. The shade or curtain at top lifts to show a window. We've added the lady of the house holding a folded hand fan. The reverse side is a sitting room with a fainting couch, large chandelier, rocking chair and ornate fan shaped mirror with silvered paper center. We've added a seated woman reading a book. Note: The items we've added were found cut and are of the same period as the rooms. We've included them as accents to the rooms; they are not attached, but do add interest. Charming schoolgirl construction, that makes you want to play paper dolls... Condition: moderate wear. See additional images below.
