An annotated proof of a student-run publication from the Rice Institute (i.e. Rice University) in Houston, Texas, published in the midst of the Second World War in June 1944. Promotes the purchase of War Bonds, and features an advert for "America's college girls" to consider joining the Women's Army Corps. Other content includes general college news (e.g. "French Brought To Stage Limelight by Pi Delta Phi"), letters to the editor, news relating to alumni who are/were serving in the War, and an open letter from the Rice Institute President asking readers to engage in prayer for those involved in the conflict. Annotated/marked in red, with the following note at the foot: "We have some excellent morals to shoot at here" (presumably referring to an underlined phrase "bring their own drinking containers" in a section about an engineer picnic).
