(New York, 1932): Harrison Smith and Robert Haas. First Edition. Octavo. First issue dated October and with "Jefferson" instead of "Mottstown" in the first line on page 340. 480 pages. One of the most profound of Faulkner's novels which along with "As I Lay Dying" and "The Sound and the Fury" are often contrasted with his later work. Light in August was completed in February and did not reach publication until October 1932. Bound in beige cloth lettered in orange, spine lettering blue, some finger soiling mostly to spine, spine has a slight crease. A very nice copy without dust jacket.
