Renn (1889-1979), a German novelist and anti-war activist, was arrested by the Nazis on the night of the Reichstag fire, which was blamed on the Communists, and served two and a half years in prison, until 1935. He lived in exile until 1947 when he returned to East Germany and taught at various universities. Octavo: [vi], 266 pp. Original cloth binding, with red-stamped titles.
