Hardcover
1996 · (London)
by Stanislaus Eric, Count Stenbock; David Michael Tibet (Introduction)
(London): Durtro Press, 1996. Limited Edition. Hardcover. Fine. One of 300 copies, duodecimo size, 200 pp. Graf Eric Stanislaus Stenbock (1860-1895) is known for his "macabre fantastic fiction" (n.b., from Wiki). He lived an eccentric life and died at a tragically young age from cirrhosis of the liver, likely due to his indulgence in alcohol and drugs.
His few works are excessively difficult to find in their original editions; the Durtro Press published this edition of 300 copies in 1996 and a subsequent work with his Collected Poems, in an edition of 400 copies, in 2001.
This work includes: "Hylas", "Narcissus", "The Death of a Vocation", "Viol d'Amor", "The Egg Of The Albatross", "The True Story Of A Vampire", "The Worm Of Luck", "The Other Side" and, as translations from Balzac, "Christ In Flanders" and "A Passion In The Desert".
