Finely bound in full tan calf, with borders of boards double-ruled in gilt, spine with five raised bands, lettered and ruled in gilt, decorated in blind, red titles label, marbled edges, and marbled endpapers. Near fine, with some light marks to rear board, "John J. Banks" bookseller ticket to front pastedown, contemporary signature to front flyleaf, and light spotting to a couple of pages at front and rear. Overall, a very handsome copy. FROM B&B: An American poet, Longfellow is best known for his lyrical style and incorporation of mythology and legend. A member of the Fireside Poets group, his work was often centered around life in New England, though it reached popularity with international audiences. This volume includes all of Longfellow's popular poetical works, some of his most notable being "The Courtship of Miles Standish," "The Song of Hiawatha," and "Evangeline."
