This publication of the hymn to Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of love, was the third work produced by the Shanty Bay Press. Included are three full-page, full-colour pochoir illustrations by Walter Bachinski, who also provided three two-colour woodcuts.
___DESCRIPTION: Quarter yellow cloth with ivory Torinoko Gampi paper boards, yellow cloth fore-edges, illustration in yellow on the front board, white cloth spine label with yellow lettering, gold endpapers, duotone woodcut on the title page, coloured initial capital letter, three full-page, full-color pochoir illustrations, two duotone woodcuts in addition to the one on the title page and a smaller one on the colophon page; type handset Bembo on Somerset Satin paper, designed by Walter Bachinski and Janis Butler, the woodcuts and pochoir illustrations by Walter Bachinski; folio size (13" by 9 1/2"), unpaginated with 15 leaves total (including illustrations, excluding blanks); limited edition of 100 copies for sale, this no. 8, signed by Janis Butler and Walter Bachinski on the colophon. Housed in a slipcase covered in a yellow cloth matching the volume's spine and fore-edge.
___CONDITION: Fine, the covers and spine clean and without wear, straight corners without rubbing, a strong, square text block with solid hinges, the interior is clean and bright, and it is entirely free of prior owner markings. The publisher's slipcase fine overall, strong and sturdy, without wear, clean other than light dustiness.
