[spine slightly turned, a little deterioration to cloth at bottom edges of covers (slight exposure of boards in about a half-dozen spots), one-time owner's ink notes regarding date and place of purchase along edge of rear pastedown (covered by rear jacket flap); the jacket is heavily edgeworn, with internal tape-repairs along folds (they appear to have been completely separated), also appears to have been completely split down the middle of the spine and imperfectly tape-repaired, with a bit of paper loss; it won't win any beauty prizes, but is reasonably presentable in new mylar]. Mystery novel with a Maine setting, about a playwright staging her play at a summer theatre, and uncovering a plot to sabotage its production. Although jacket-blurbed as the author's second novel (following "Curiosity Killed a Cat"), it was actually her fourth, with two earlier titles published in 1930 and 1935. . (Inventory #: 30108)
