Hiroshima, 1956. About very good.. Twenty-four plates, plus [24]pp. booklet. Oblong folio. Original pictorial card slipcase. Light wear and soiling to slipcase, repaired with tissue at lower edge, sides separated. Images clean. Educational material published by the Hiroshima Institute for Peace Education, shortly after the inaugural World Conference Against Atomic and Hydrogen Bombs in 1955. The work was edited by the Association of Atomic Victim Teachers, and includes twenty-four black and white images showing the horrific effects of the bomb and its aftermath on both the city and civilians. Images are captioned in English and Japanese. It is accompanied by an interpretive booklet in Japanese. (Inventory #: 5850)
