Overall, a pleasing copy of this classic title from The Chronicles of Narnia series. In this first sequel to The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe (1950), the Pevensie children are brought back to Narnia, where 1300 years have passed to just a single year in England. They save a Dwarf, later identified as Trumpkin the Dwarf, from execution, and he tells them of the dangerous developments that have occurred in Narnia. The kingdom is now ruled by the Telmarine leaders King Miraz and Queen Prunaprismia, who overthrew and killed King Caspian IX. Prince Caspian, the rightful heir to the throne, escaped the Telmarines and found refuge in the forest among its magical creatures. The Pevensies and Trumpkin the Dwarf unite with Prince Caspian and other Narnians and clash with the Telmarines in a battle to determine the fate of Narnia. Prince Caspian is the second book published in the seven-book series, and the fourth book chronologically. It was adapted into a 2008 film, The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, Disney's second highest grossing film of 2008 after WALL-E. . First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good/Dust Jacket Included. Illus. by Pauline Baynes. (Inventory #: CSL006)
