A pamphlet containing F. Tompkin's 19th century adaptation of Shakespeare's 16th century poem "Venus and Adonis," which is based in part of Ovid's "Metamorphoses." A rare piece of Shakespeariana, the front cover states, "Upon the wild horizon of public idiocy, and fear, Shakespeare's Venus, an oasis undimmed, shall ever shine to cheer.". 1st Edition.
